This antibody binds to the fourth EGF (Epithelial Growth Factor) -like domain of mouse COMP, comprising residues 232–252, called the P6 epitope.

Cartilage Oligomeric Matrix Protein (COMP) is a disulfide-linked pentameric proteoglycan primarily found in cartilage, but also present in other joint tissues such as meniscus, tendon, synovial fibroblasts, and osteoblasts. As a member of the thrombospondin family, COMP stimulates type II collagen fibril formation. It is released into the blood when cartilage is damaged, making it a valuable biomarker for predicting cartilage destruction in inflammatory joint diseases like rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA).

Monoclonal Antibody to COMP (Clone 15A11) Cartilage Oligomeric Matrix Protein, Affinity Purified

The mouse monoclonal anti-Cartilage Oligomeric Matrix Protein (COMP) antibody clone 15A11 binds to the fourth EGF (Epithelial Growth Factor) -like domain of murine COMP, comprising residues 232– 252, called the P6 epitope. Binding to recombinant human COMP was determined in enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) as absorbance at 405nm.
